Aishwarya Rai Bachchan made an appearance at the red carpet on May 15 at the 69th Cannes International Film Festival, as she attended the premiere of From The Land Of The Moon along with her Sarbjit team. Well, Twitterati surely accepted the challenge!

At her most memorable Cannes appearances this year, we saw her in a close-fitted Ali Younes beaded cape couture gown with turquoise eye shadow and middle-part waves, a red ruffled gown from New York-based designer Naeem Khan, a blush pink gown from Elie Saab’s Fall 2014 couture collection, and a bardot Rami Kadi dress adorned with delicate applique work and (the now infamous) purple lips. She is the first mainstream Bollywood star to sport the unconventional make-up trend on the red carpet.
The actress who is in news most of all for her purple lips that she pulled off at the red carpet was seen carrying the same tiresome look upon her face with lips painted in a shimmery shade and just eye liner adorning her peepers.
She said: ‘I know there is a red carpet here, but I enjoy my croissants and ice creams.
Aiswarya Rai Bachchan is now busy promoting her new movie “Sarbjit”. Ash wore a attractive floral Rami Kadi dress and completed her look with smoky eyes and purple lips. “Step back, Sonam Kapoor in whites and blues, purple is all that social media can talk about”. The film was premeired at the prestigious film festival.
“The film tells the story of Richard and Mildred Loving, an interracial couple whose arrest for marrying in 1958 and subsequent legal battle led to the end of America’s anti-miscegenation laws”, reports the Irish Independent.
Not just this, they also spoke about “Sarbjit” releasing in Pakistan.
