Mark Zuckerberg Calls Facebook ‘Platform for All Ideas’ After Meeting With Conservatives

“Facebook and Mr. Zuckerberg are drawing the wrong conclusion from the negative response from conservatives”.

Facebook’s founder Mark Zuckerberg has met with a group of conservative pundits and media personalities to defend the site against allegations of bias. Beck asked. “Has any other organization with 1.6 billion users admitted that while their foundational values are the opposite of ours, it is bad business to cut off a segment of the population?” “And I’m especially eager to help explain why the controversy has upset so many conservative Americans”, Brooks wrote on Facebook this week.

Some conservatives feel that their complaints about Facebook’s reputation, however, had gone unacknowledged for too long. They claim editors of the website’s “trending” section routinely blocked conservative issues.

The fact is that people who do good work generally prosper and those who are mediocre or half-assed don’t. It showcases personalized news as well as globally spiking trends.

The high-profile accusation gained its weight when reported former Facebook workers, which primarily composed of former “news creators” of the social media giant.

Facebook denied the allegations of bias and said it would conduct a full investigation into the matter.

The Facebook team also noted that any such tampering would be “philosophically against both the mission of the company and Mark’s personal mission”, Cupp said.

“We are one global community where anyone can share anything – from a loving photo of a mother and her baby to intellectual analysis of political events”, a portion of Mark Zuckerberg’s post said. “They certainly acknowledged that there was a problem with getting the message out to conservatives”, he said. “It’s important that Facebook remains a platform for all ideas and that we continue to give every person a voice”. The meeting took place after Facebook was accused of not being editorially neutral.

Zuckerberg’s data would concur. Donald Trump has more fans on Facebook than any other presidential candidate.

As it becomes a more important source for news, Facebook has increasingly drawn scrutiny for how it presents news items on users’ profile pages. “It’s not even close”, he said. That led to a showdown at Facebook’s headquarters in Menlo Park.

A Facebook spokeswoman said the meeting produced “a constructive discussion” and some attendees also called it productive. Heritage Foundation President Jim DeMint and Vice President of Publishing Rob Bluey were among those participating.

The consternation about Facebook underscores two points.

“The fear, among the conservative leaders in the room, is if Facebook wasn’t somehow being fair, they shouldn’t bill themselves as unbiased”.

“Most assumed Facebook is not operating in bad faith but wanted to raise the issue on unconscious bias where it can crop up”, she said.

Facebook is working to fix its media problem.

“It came about in a challenging way, but I actually think that Silicon Valley over all, it behooves them to all prepare for this and get ahead and have this type of engagement”.
