Uber driver dozes off leaving passenger to wheel himself
On May 15th, Gurgaon based Ishan Gill booked an Uber at 12:36 AM from Defence Colony to go back home in DLF Phase II. At one point during the ride, the driver nearly crashed the cab into a road divider near Aurobindo Marg, Gill said. To my surprise, we had nearly gone over the divider and hit a pole! “I turned to look at him and he appeared to be sleeping”, Mr. Gill told The Hindu. “I showed the driver my driving licence and he agreed to let me drive”.

And while it is not known what drug the driver might have taken, some people argued and took his sideWhile the driver may or may not be in a life crisis that forced him to take meds to keep himself awake, taking them on a job that requires to drive and stay alert was not the most intelligent thing to do.
An Uber driver allegedly dozed off while driving a passenger from New Delhi to Gurgaon leaving the latter with no choice but to take the wheels.
“The cab, a white Honda Amaze, reached at 1.10 a.m. and the driver, Ajay, was looking off [unwell]”.
But unfortunately, the driver falls in deep sleep while driving and Gill drives the auto to destination.
On reaching his house, Gill said he tried to wake up the driver to pay him but he did not stir. “I could not book another cab and I wanted to get home soon”.
Gill said the driver arrived late and that after he boarded the auto, he sensed something was off. When he asked the driver if everything was okay, the driver “kept nodding his head in affirmation”, Gill told The Times of India.
Uber got in touch with him after he posted the thing on Facebook. “I received a message of Rs. 427 on my phone and dropped Rs. 500 with the driver”.

Had a horrific experience with UBER last night. “Uber has to take responsibility to ensure safety of its customers”, said Gill.
