Rockstar Teases ‘Red Dead Redemption’ Sequel as Its Next Game Project

“Our diverse lineup includes the new intellectual property Battleborn, which we released earlier this month, and the eagerly anticipated upcoming launches of Mafia III, Sid Meier’s Civilization VI, NBA 2K17 and WWE 2K17”, said Zelnick.

GameSpot recently reported that the parent company of Rockstar Games, Take-Two Interactive has just announced that the company is working really hard for new games, which will reveal anytime soon. Take-Two says that Rockstar is working hard on exciting future projects that will be disclosed soon enough.

Adding more excitement to gamers is the possibility that the much-awaited “Red Dead Redemption 2” is the one being planned by Rockstar.

A number of rumours have suggested that a Red Dead Redemption sequel is indeed under development, and we have rounded up the ones we could find in a previous post.

Commenting on the release, Staruss Zelnick, CEO of Take Two, disclosed that the company is looking ahead to grow substantial Non-GAAP revenues and earnings in fiscal 2018.

The CEO of Take Two Initiative, Strauss Zelnick, gave a long (but informative) explanation on their stance on remastering old GTA titles, he confirmed that it is something “something [Rockstar Games] will decide in due course”, but also that they “wouldn’t do anything that’s not going to look great creatively”. Additionally, even though very little official information about the game is available, analysts and other industry watchers are certain that it will be announced.

Last month, photos of what was believed to be the map for the upcoming game leaked. The location for the game has also been shifted and it will allow players to explore an area which lies to the east of the map in the original game. It’s not clear if this new IP comes from Rockstar or another company under Take-Twos umbrella.

Rockstar Games is also expected to announce its other AAA title, the “Grand Theft Auto 6” (“GTA 6”), during the event. The game will be set in the backdrop of a prequel time-line. For example, one of the rumors is that Red Dead Redemption 2 will release in 2017, with the subtitle Legends of the West.
