The interview touched on such gripping topics as Trump’s previous marriages, how his brother’s alcoholism affected him – Trump claims he has never had a single drink in his life – and whether the presumptive nominee has ever been emotionally wounded by someone.

USA Today said Trump acknowledged that he attacked the TV host through social media but noted that many of his fans also hated him for his tirades on Kelly.

“I don’t really blame you because you are doing your thing”, he said.

“That was a retweet, yeah”, Trump admitted, before downplaying his comment and adding it was “not the most terrible”.

“You’ve been called a lot worse”, Trump said with a smile.

“I’m responding”, he added. “It’s about the messaging.to young girls and to other women”.

She said imagined him composing his tweets while sitting in a dressing gown. “I could have done certain things differently”.

“When I went into Trump Tower that day, I was a little anxious”, Kelly admitted to ET.

KELLY: “You seem to stay angry for months”. “I thought it was more of a statement”. “I didn’t know what to expect”. Trump replied. “And I try and un-wound myself”. And he refused to apologize for insults hurled at her via twitter, such as “bimbo” and “lightweight”. The pair maintained a frosty relationship for months after that August incident; Tuesday night was the first time they’ve sat down for an interview since that debate.

Additionally, Trump defended his behavior towards Kelly. I think people are smart enough to figure this out without my help.

“Bimbo”, Kelly interjected, referencing the fact that Trump has retweeted his followers referring to Kelly by that word.

But the proceedings clearly lacked any of the fiery denunciations Trump has been lobbing at Kelly since the night of the first debate, beginning with a tweet that declared Kelly was “not very good or professional”.

“Ooh, OK”, an uncomfortable-looking Trump responded.
