Channing Tatum Closes Deal to Star in GAMBIT
THR reports that Tatum has closed a deal with 20th Century Fox on the Gambit solo film following this week’s report that he was leaving the project.

While precise information on Tatum’s contend with Fox are uncertain, markedly some money was also definitely a concern, having the actor’s backend comp-plan a “sticking point”, and his overall resolve for the authorize.
Tatum’s participation in the film was not in “any real danger”, according to the publication, because the actor had been confirmed to play the Cajun card-slinger since May 2014. Well, that’s all looking to be for naught now as The Wrap are reporting that Tatum is planning to leave the project. I guess we’re going to have to wait and see how much Fox decides to use Tatum in their upcoming movies. The date may be moved but 20th Century Fox appears to like this date as there are rumors of building a larger cinematic universe with the main “X-Men” films, the spin-off films, and “Fantasic Four”. Jackman’s been strapping on the claws for more than 15 years now, and while he openly praises Wolverine as the best role of his career, there’s no denying the enormous amount of work and devotion it’s required. It arrived with what seemed to be a promising box office debut, but it fizzled out rather quickly.

“Gambit” is slated to hit theaters october. 7, 2016. The film struggled to secure a director for a long time before Rupert Wyatt (the great Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes and the dire The Gambler) came on board, with the project only kept alive by the drive of its star.
