Chewbacca Mask Sells Out Online Thanks to Viral Video
“We have received an overwhelming amount of interest in the Star Wars: Episode VII The Force Awakens Chewbacca Mask by Hasbro since Candace posted her amusing and lighthearted video”, a Kohl’s spokesperson told CNBC. Kohl’s made a decision to reward her for her free advertising by stopping by her Grand Prairie, Texas home and giving her $2,500 in Kohl’s gift cards, 10,000 rewards points, and a load of “Star Wars” toys for her kids.

Candace Payne chose to film herself in a Kohl’s parking lot trying on a Chewbacca mask she had just bought, breaking down in giggles in a video that has captured the hearts of millions.
As Entertainment Weekly reported: since Payne’s statement on Friday, the Chewbacca mask has been purchased in a massive scale.
She was so excited about the mask that she got in her vehicle and turned on her camera while in the store’s parking lot and put the mask on. Payne remarks. Her pure joy is endearing and her boisterous laugh infectious.
Payne got over 130 million views and 3 million shares on Facebook.
The video was posted less than a day ago using Facebook’s new live video feature, and it’s already racked up more than 44 million views.
According to her, this little gift for herself is part of her birthday celebration.

As a result of Payne’s video, the mask is now sold out online. “#AllTheGoodStuff”, Kohl’s wrote in the caption of the video, which the store titled “The happiest Chewbacca”. In addition, they gave Payne 10,000 reward points to use at their stores, said the report. She was even congratulated by a Reddit account belonging to Peter Mayhew, the actor who portrayed Chewbacca in the original Star Wars trilogy.
