Mexico fire coach after alleged punching incident
Mexico coach Miguel Herrera lost his job on Tuesday after a punch-up with a TV analyst at Philadelphia airport – but the trouble isn’t over for him yet.

Herrera’s road to future employment likely will begin with this apology.
Herrera said he planned to spend time with family and rest.
De Maria did not announce a replacement for Herrera who led Mexico to the round of 16 at last year’s World Cup.
The incident involving Television Azteca’s Christian Martinoli took place on Monday as the team prepared to return home after winning the CONCACAF Gold Cup, the nation’s first major title since 2011. The team has been through 10 head coaches in the nine years since La Volpe departed after the 2006 World Cup in Germany.
TV Azteca’s Martinoli had strongly criticized Herrera during the team’s group stage exit from the 2015 Copa America in Chile.
While Mexico won their seventh Gold Cup by defeating Jamaica 3-1 on Sunday, it was under controversial circumstances after they were awarded a dubious penalty in a semi-final victory over Panama.
“We all saw what happened on the pitch….”
“It saddens me greatly to leave the position of team coach due to this regrettable reason since the sporting results were for the most part positive within the stated objectives” he said in his statement.
Miguel Herrera’s head finally has cooled, but it’s far too late to save the most high-profile job of his career.
Prosecutors are seeking to question Herrera over his tweets in favour of the Green Party during the June 7 midterm election, an official in the attorney general’s office told AFP on Friday.
