Chewbacca mask flying off shelves with galactic speed
Thankfully, Kohl’s chose to do away with any problems she might have with sharing by gifting Candace with three more Chewbacca masks for her two kids and her husband, and a few other things. It has already beaten Buzzfeed for the most-watched Facebook Live video of all time. The retailer expressed its appreciation by showing up at Payne’s house and handing out Star Wars goodies, including another Chewbacca mask, to her and her family, as well as $2,500 worth of Kohl’s Gift Cards. She was so excited by her pickup that she stayed in the parking lot to make her Facebook Live video.

Labelled, “It’s the simple joys in life.” at the beginning of the clip Payne admits she would like to be able to say she purchased the mask for her son. Her infectious laughter mixes with Chewbacca’s distinct purrs and grunts and it’s impossible to hold back your own giggles as the 4-minute video unfolds.
The Late Late Show host also told her that Peter Mayhew, the actor who plays Chewbacca, has invited her to a VIP meet and greet in their hometown of Dallas.
They even got one for Dad.
The force was strong with the Gregory brothers when they created this new song featuring the upbeat woman wearing a Chewbacca mask.
I could not help but smile and laugh when I saw this video.
“We want to thank you for being a loyal Kohl’s shopper”, he says.
“It’s surreal. I know you can quantify it, because it tells you, ’20 million views.’ But you cannot quantify the experience”, Payne tells ET’s Jennifer Peros of the video, which is now up to 137 million views.
I guess it really is the little things, after all.
The Houston woman begins her distinctive laugh that has made the video an worldwide sensation.
Kohl’s responded to the free publicity by providing masks for Payne’s entire family.
