Bill Cosby Ordered to Stand Trial

Cosby insists their sexual encounter at his home was consensual and that she never told him to stop.

Cosby, of course, wasn’t the subject of one of the college disciplinary proceedings that have come under so much scrutiny and prompted so much dissatisfaction.

MSNBC reports that Cosby’s arraignment is scheduled for July 20. Although Cosby’s defense was quick to point out alleged discrepancies in his accuser’s previous statements, the judge found enough evidence to proceed to a criminal trial.

He also urged her to have some wine even though she said she didn’t want to drink, Ms Constand told police.

Cosby has denied all allegations of assault and has sued some of his accusers for defamation. Cosby also said an agency would send him models on a weekly basis.

Constand told them she was “in and out” of consciousness after taking three pills that Cosby said were herbal medication. He told police the pills were over-the-counter Benadryl that he takes to help him sleep.

Constand was not in court for the hearing Tuesday, a fact that Cosby’s defense team tried to capitalize on.

But a Pennsylvania superior court ruling allows prosecutors to use statements from the police rather than direct testimony as their singular piece of evidence in preliminary hearings.

A Pennsylvania judge ruled this afternoon that the state’s criminal sex assault case against Bill Cosby will go to trial, RadarOnline.com has learned.

Lawyers for Cosby fought to have the charge dismissed, claiming that it was brought “illegally, improperly and unethically”.

She did not consent to any of this, she said.

Cosby has been accused of sexual misconduct by more than 50 women.

Law enforcement officers testifying instead of accusers is a common practice at preliminary hearings in Pennsylvania. He said he gave Constand one and a half pills and she did not ask what they were. She is not in the courtroom.

Mr. Cosby appeared more put together during today’s hearing than he did in other visits, wearing a gray suit.

Earlier Tuesday, the comedian walked into the courthouse on the arm of an aide, waving to people waiting outside.

He pressed prosecution witnesses about Constand’s statement to police that she had not had contact with Cosby after the alleged assault.

Cosby was charged on December 30 with three counts of aggravated indecent assault, second-degree felonies, each with a minimum of five years in prison. She said she was sexually assaulted while she was unconscious.
