The Bills parted with guard Chris Williams and tackle Wayne Hunter in the past week and have holes across the offensive line.

At the current moment as per Josh Katzenstein of the Detroit News, he’s already visited the Buffalo Bills and is set to visit with the Lions this week. He spent his first five seasons as a starter with the Detroit Lions, who selected Cherilus with the 17th pick in the 2008 draft.

Cherlius also had off-season knee surgery but his agent, Greg Diulus told AP that his client is healthy and in shape.

Cherilus started in 29 of 32 games with the Colts.

He left the Lions for Indy in 2013 on a 5-year, $35 million deal, which made him the highest paid right tackle at the time. The Cardinals defeated the Colts 40-11.

Apparently, the Colts tried to restructure Cherilus’ contract, something that he was not ultimately receptive too, which led to his release from the team. When he refused, he was cut by the team.

The Lions have about $2.7 million in available cap space. Cherilus underwent a physical and met with coaches and personnel staff during yesterday’s visit. One thing is for sure, the Lions could absolutely use his skill-set and have him work wonders for their pass protection.
