I am a better, more creative, and funnier writer thanks to Twitter’s 140 character limit. You could type at length, giving grammar its due! Neither will attachments like photos, GIFs, videos, polls, or quoted tweets.

The blog post says that it will allow users to draw renewed attention to certain tweets if “a really good one went unnoticed”. However, these changes are not immediate.

In the coming months, it will make changes to simplify Tweets, including what counts toward your 140 characters.
