Gas price drops to accelerate from Labor Day forward

Detroit’s average gas prices have dropped 8.9 cents in the past week to $2.73, according to the real-time gas prices Web site’s weekly analysis, released Monday.
Gas prices may soon begin falling to levels not seen since the Great Recession in 2008 to under $2.50 a gallon in California and – gasp! – to below two bucks nationwide.

The lowest price in the Harrisburg remains at $2.46 a gallon at Costco, Lower Paxton Township; Exit 77 Travel Plaza in West Hanover Township; and Sam’s Club in Swatara Township. “That glut is being transitioned into a refined product glut, which means much cheaper numbers for those products”, Kloza said.
