Not so. Instead Kate turned to a grass-green coat-dress by Catherine Walker, for the outing – which saw her and Prince William smelling the Princess Charlotte Chrysanthemum, a flower named after their daughter.

The married pair was joined by Prince Harry and Queen Elizabeth II, who is a royal patron of the event. “We need schools and communities to play their full role to help children who are struggling in ways that are not always easy to see”, she previously said.

The team comprised two obstetricians, three midwives, three anaesthetists, four theatre staff, two special care baby unit staff, four paediatricians, one laboratory technician to check blood samples and four senior managers.

He recounted how the team would regularly meet to discuss birth plans and to prepare for potential emergencies. Anything that could possibly go wrong, we had a team of people behind each specialty. “Everyone was sworn to secrecy”, Professor Tiong Ghee Teoh, backup to Kate’s OB, revealed.

Despite him being second in line to the throne it is believed to be the first time the Duke of Cambridge had ever attended one of the Queen’s Garden Parties.

In her message, Catherine says: “When families are confronted with the shattering news that their child has a life-limited condition, their world can fall apart”, before thanking the organisation for its work.

Prof Teoh said about Kate: “She was very appreciative of what happened and said there were a lot more people behind the scenes than (would be apparent)”. Prince William looked equally sharp in tails and a top hat. The royal trio took a stroll around the Kensington Palace gardens on Monday, Hello magazine reported.
