At its 2016 I/O developer conference on Thursday, tech biggie Google unfolded a new vision of virtual reality (VR), announcing its “Daydream” platform for high-quality mobile VR.

The same apps that run on phones and tablets will run on Chromebooks – without compromising speed or security.
Now that Google is officially bringing the Play Store on ChromeOS, this will surely get the attention of developers to start working on better Chromebook apps that fully work offline. It seems Google doesn’t consider a device’s capabilities, rather its age, in deciding upon OS feature support. Finally, the time has come Google launched his own customized app called Allo.it has a lot of customization options, quick reply and within the app you can use Google Assistant.
The access of Android apps means Chromebook users will be able to download apps and experience them on their devices. They’ll need to feature low latency, sustained performance, Android N’s built-in VR user interface and head tracking, according to Google’s VR presentation today at I/O 2016.

With Chromebooks having just overtaken Macs in terms of popularity, the introduction of millions of Android apps to the platform is incredibly well-timed.
Google also teased “great new devices specially designed for Play”, details of which should arrive in the next few months.
Android is also speeding up its new OS with the new JIT compiler that installs apps 75 percent faster.

With Android apps running on Chrome OS, questions about why they don’t merge will inevitably crop up again. Developers who want to test their Android apps on Chrome will be able to use the Asus Chromebook Flip, Chromebook Pixel, and Acer Chromebook R11 starting in June.
