Will Congress compel Trump to release his tax returns?
Hmmm, wonder who he has in mind?

In a move created to force Donald Trump to release his tax returns – or at least taunt senate Republicans into defending the presidential nominee – a Senate Democrat has introduced new legislation making it mandatory for candidates to release their financial records.
Due to the political makeup of the Senate, controlled by Republicans, Wyden’s bill is unlikely to become law. The Republicans who control Congress have little incentive to embarrass Donald Trump, their presumptive presidential candidate.
Meanwhile, Trump’s most likely Democratic opponent in the general election – Hillary Clinton – has already released eight years of tax returns for this election cycle, and more than 30 years’ worth over the course of her public life.
The proposal comes as Trump faces rising pressure to release his tax returns, a practice candidates have voluntarily honored for decades.
But with Democrats looking for every opportunity to focus negative attention on the billionaire, Oregon Democratic Sen.
Oregon’s senior US senator, Ron Wyden, thinks it is all of our business.
Wyden’s bill, the Presidential Tax Transparency Act, would require candidates to release their most recent three years of tax returns to the Federal Election Commission within 15 days of becoming the nominee at the party convention.
“Once in the light, a tax return can not be explained away by conspiracy theories, bravado or misdirection”.
Trump has so far refused to release his tax returns until the Internal Revenue Service finishes auditing them. The Post reported that he said, “He’ll have to make that decision himself”. The senator said not releasing returns appears to raise questions about the returns’ contents, and releasing them delivers “honest answers to key questions from the American public”. Do you give to charity?
Wyden, from OR, is the top Democrat on the Senate Finance Committee and endorsed Hillary Clinton for president – she has released more than 30 years of her tax returns. Are you keeping your money offshore?
