Devolver Digital Announces “Absolver” From Ex-Ubisoft Paris Developers
Definitely watch the trailer to get a feel for how it flows. It’s only through progression will players learn brand new combat styles, acquire weapons, gear, armor, and build a team of warriors who will fight alongside you in the Arenas of combat. Those are a bunch of words I like to hear used to describe an action game, and the art direction is also really doing it for me.

Set in the ruins of the fallen Adal Empire, players are thrust into the role of a Prospect, or one who has joined an “elite corps of combatants” known as Absolvers in their mission of fighting to maintain stability in the world.
Developed by Paris-based studio Sloclap, Absolver is a fantasy-themed martial arts combat game that challenges players to master a repertoire of deadly attacks using their fists, feet, and bladed weaponry. This is their debut release. Players will awaken with a mysterious mask placed on their face. “A new story unfolds at each encounter: what are the other’s intentions?” Players will have the ability to customize their fighter’s fight style, via a Combat Deck, and even take part in online matches against other members of the Absolver community.
The game’s key feature is its real-time melee combat, which includes a wide range of techniques, including different stances, feints, dodges, parries, and counters.
Absolver is due out in 2017 for PC and consoles, and certainly looks promising indeed.
“We think the world would be a much better place if there were no guns. Then we could finally focus on important things, like sword fighting and how to kill a man with one punch”.

Absolver’s full reveal will take place over Twitch from E3, Monday 13 June, 5pm PT.
