Marcus Rashford: Man Utd striker short of time for England impact
England manager Roy Hodgson has said Jamie Vardy “deserves” time off for his wedding, even though it means the striker will miss his country’s next game.

Jordan Henderson will also hope to start, with Hodgson resting the five Tottenham players who featured against Turkey and not intending to play Jamie Vardy.
“It is great to have players who you play with week in, week out, in the England team but whoever is playing, we have a lot of great players in the side”.
The star Leicester and England striker is finally getting married on Wednesday after previously changing plans on 33-year-old beauty Rebekah Nicholson not once, not twice but three times.
“You just never know, a sensational performance – and he’s got it in him because his temperament’s so good – could just give Roy Hodgson that nudge”.
Rashford’s hopes of featuring at the Stadium of Light later this week will be helped by the fact that Jamie Vardy, who scored England’s victor against Turkey on Sunday, is unlikely to be available.
Vardy’s 83rd-minute goal – his third goal in his last three global appearances – earned Hodgson’s men victory at the Etihad Stadium in the first of three European Championship warm-up fixtures. I feel good, I’m 100 percent.
“But I don’t think his place in the team or the squad at the moment is under enormous threat”.
Rooney played a starring role from midfield in Manchester United’s 2-1 FA Cup final win over Crystal Palace on Saturday.
England last reached the last four of a major summer tournament in 1996 when they hosted the Euros, and Scholes believes Rooney and Kane would make the ideal striking combination for Roy Hodgson’s team.
“But obviously the skipper [Wayne Rooney], when he comes back, he normally takes them so we will see what happens in the next game”.
Kane edged out Vardy by a single goal in the race for the Premier League golden boot after netting 25 times to become the first Englishman to scoop up the award since Sunderland’s Kevin Phillips 16 years ago.
Although Hodgson will be without Vardy for the match at the Stadium of Light, Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge will be available, along with captain Wayne Rooney and his Manchester United team-mate Marcus Rashford.
“I don’t really know what to expect from him”, Hodgson told reporters.

“He will join up with us but we’ll have to assess that”. He was more than happy to play in either position and I think it was a success because he has come away with a goal.
