Twitteratis, are questioning the Censor Board’s decision for letting a few films pass through censor, when a few cuts were really required in the scenes, and grounding a film which has cuss words which rightfully revolves around its storyline.

Last month, Ekta Kapoor had approached FCAT after EC had rejected “Great Grand Masti”.

Among similar instances of a filmmaker placing his/ her film before the tribunal and getting it greenlighted include “Jannat 2” (2012) and recent releases, “Jai Gangaajal”, “Mastizaade” and “Love Games”.

Indian Express reports a member of the production team as saying, “The film is based on the drug problem in Punjab, the character played by Shahid Kapoor, that of a musician, is liberal with expletives”. Since the meeting proved to be inconclusive, the film was to be sent to the RC.

The upcoming film “Udta Punjab” has reportedly got into trouble with the Censor Board of Film Certification (CBFC) on Thursday. “However, the makers have chose to appeal to the tribunal directly”.

Anurag Kashyap had earlier said in an interview his creative process has been affected by the censorship.
