Newton Abbot school evacuated after suspected bomb hoax
PSNI Chief Superintendent Garry Eaton said: “Local police responded immediately, working with the individual school authorities to establish what the circumstances of the calls were and to put appropriate procedures in place to ensure the safety of both pupils and staff”.

Falkirk Council revelaed that an automated threatening telephone call was made to Hallglen Primary School earlier today.
The incident is thought to be linked to a series of bomb hoaxes across the country.
“Staff remain vigilant at all times across all our schools and nurseries and will work with Police Scotland to address any concerns raised”.
Children who were evacuated from their primary school this morning due to a hoax bomb threat have been safely collected by parents.
All 570 children at Dovelands Primary School, in Hinckley Road, Western Park, were moved to the nearby Fullhurst College campus after the unspecified threat at 10.30am.
A spokesperson for the school said: “All children are safe and the building was evacuated straight away and it was dealt with”.
There was no further risk to children at the Rudyard Avenue school, in Roseworth, after the call was identified as a hoax and uniformed officers were at the school Tuesday.
A spokesman from the school said: “A suspicious call was received by Welling School this morning”.
A statement on Highweek school’s website says: “The school is closing today”.
The Gazette understands the children were evacuated after a “potential security threat” was identified the school.

The school since took the decision to send all pupils home.
