Jose Mourinho: Manchester United boss issues winning message to fans

The Portuguese “supercoach” was announced on Friday after a legal hiccup with his name and image rights tied to his former club Chelsea. “I think I prefer to focus on the giant club I have in my hands now”.

Peter Kenyon was the man that brought Jose Mourinho to England.

“When I appointed him, I was looking to bring a winning mentality to what was already a good team”. And more than that, I need the players and supporters to feel that I say that, but I think we can really. “I think also they know what I can give them”.

Press Association Sport understands United’s most decorated player has an offer to stay on, although it is unclear what that role would be.

“From the very start of his career in coaching he has had this incredible self-belief, great knowledge and incredible attention to detail, but also this ability to think outside the box in a way some managers don’t”. Zlatan Ibrahimović has been heavily rumored as José’s number one transfer target, so that deal may come through in the near future.

Ed Woodard, the Manchester United vice-chairman, has confirmed Jose Mourinho has the new manager, declaring: “Jose is quite simply the best manager in the game today”.

We all know the track record that Jose Mourinho has, and how he can basically guarantee any club success, but there are flaws to his management that needs to be improved.

Mourinho had celebrated in front of the United fans. We’ve got one of the biggest clubs in the world and one of the biggest managers coming together at the right time.

However, while Giles – who played for United between 1957 and 1963 – admits van Gaal deserved to be sacked for his underwhelming performance over his two seasons in charge, he believes the club handled the affair without dignity.

Van Gaal did win the FA Cup – the first time United had lifted the trophy in 12 years – but due to widespread condemnation of the style of football his team played it was not enough to save him.

Mourinho, 53, is a serial victor, having notably won eight league titles and two Uefa Champions Leagues, but Chelsea’s spectacular collapse over the first half of the recently concluded season resurrected old doubts about his ability to deliver long-term success.

Mourinho’s immediate task is to revive United’s ailing fortunes, having finished fifth in the Premier League last term and missed out on Champions League qualification.

The new season could become a battle royale between Mourinho and Pep Guardiola, the incoming boss of Manchester City.
