“All of the things that have come up lately with TSA and the long lines, it seems like they have focused on fixing that, but we have already tried to fix that on our end”, Weston said.
Seems everyone is urging you to get to the airport much earlier because of that.
Friday is the fourth busiest day of the year for air travel.
So far, travelers taking have reported security lines are moving faster than expected after weeks of costly delays at USA airports.
Neither DFW International Airport nor Love Field has seen the same extreme lines as airports in Chicago, New York or Atlanta, but waits to clear security have stretched to an hour or more at times.
Bomb-sniffing dogs are being used at busier airports to help speed up lines, TSA spokesman Mike England said. The passenger increase is also fueled by lower airfares this year and South Florida’s continued popularity as a Memorial Day weekend travel destination.
In the last few weeks, travelers have complained of hours of waiting for TSA lines.
More than 38 million Americans are expected to get out there this summer with Missoula airport officials saying they expect almost 100,000 passengers to walk through airport gates each month this summer. Round-trip airfares also have fallen by about 8 percent since early 2015 to an average of $363, which is contributing to an expected 4 percent increase in the number of passengers flying this summer.
Even though gas and airline ticket prices are lower this year, the U.S. Travel Association says Americans will likely spend more, $320 on average.
