NFL, NFLPA request expedited ruling on Tom Brady suspension

Now the NFL scored another big win in the case as the NFL Player’s Association competing lawsuit filed in Minnesota has been shot down by the court.

The NFL and NFLPA are hoping to resolve Tom Brady’s lawsuit before 2015 season begins.

U.S. District Judge Richard Kyle, based in Minnesota, ordered the transfer.

“We represent everybody, ” said guard Ramon Foster, the Steelers’ player representative.

The NFLPA, under guidance from Brady, filed a motion in New York on Friday requesting a pre-motion meeting to try and solve the legal battle with the NFL and Commissioner Roger Goodell by September 4.

Combine that with Belichick not speaking to reporters and it seemed like a normal day for the Patriots: tight-lipped and led by their dynamic quarterback.

But after that is where he lost most of us, at least those who aren’t diehard Patriots fans and – for now – his sponsors.

Bradymania gripped the opening practice of the New England Patriots’ 2015 training camp on Thursday morning on the grass fields behind Gillette Stadium.

“You know, not much of a reaction to it, really”, Garoppolo said.

The players union also said the appeal hearing was unfair, in part because Goodell denied Brady and his representatives access to evidence and witnesses. Brady and the Patriots would prefer any decision is made before the beginning of the regular season so that he’s not missing high-priority games if the suspension is upheld.

While Garoppolo said he’s got plenty to work on, he feels more confident and comfortable entering his second year with the Patriots. “From the NFL’s perspective, they likely agreed to this because they’re now in their home field as far as courts go, and think they have a winning case”.

The whole fiasco is probably a good warning to all players: No matter how good you are to the league, just look at what the NFL did to Brady’s reputation.

But why is this being taken up in Minnesota in the first place?

Mara said it is a bit disconcerting that Brady and the NFLPA are now suing to appeal the suspension in federal court, “because it’s just going to drag this thing out into the fall”.

The union is arguing that only a fine would be appropriate for a first offense of this kind, but Brady has maintained his innocence throughout the “Deflategate” saga. The running back worked with the starters after being on the physically unable to perform list for the first two days of camp. I’ll leave all that up to you guys and the experts.
