The Redmond giant released the Surface Book in October 2015 and rumors suggest its successor, the Surface Book 2, could see an early 2017 release.
Microsoft is also rumoured to be working on Surface Pro 5 and it is also expected to release either in October 2016 or by spring next year. It has been previously known that Apple will likely launch its much-awaited laptop at WWDC next month. Both the Surface Book and Surface Pro 4 had battery issues and Microsoft had to roll out huge updates to solve this. The upcoming model will be rechargeable and come with a magnetic dock as well. Their latest effort has been in the hardware markets, and particularly towards the mobile phone devices, as Microsoft gets ready to release their gen-next Windows 10 Mobile device, the Microsoft Surface Phone.
With all the release date news trending all over the internet, Ecumenical News reported that the upcoming Microsoft Surface Book 2 will consist of Intel’s latest i5 and i7 core processors. Moreover, the release of the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 in June 2016 will give the company a big opportunity to get ahead of its greatest rivals. It has been said that the release is very logical as Microsoft will not possibly disrupt the yearly product life cycle of its tablets. You can expect a major boost in battery life for the Surface Pro 5.
In addition to that, Microsoft has managed to apply Surface ME 11.0.11.1006, which improves system stability and increases the reliability of touch and pen capabilities, Surface NVM Express Controller 10.0.4.0 to enhance NVMe Storage stability, and Intel Precise Touch 1.1.0.240 for a better touch stability. Share to us your thoughts in the comment section below. In this endeavour, they are planning to sacrifice all the extra ports and launch the laptop with just the USB Type-C port. Hence, it may come with USB Type-C ports on both sides of the device unlike the recently launched MacBook 2016.

If Microsoft decides to equip its Surface Book 2 with the aforementioned processor and 4K display, it will be hard to maintain realistic prices.
