Sports Authority Begins Closing Retail Locations
The bankrupt retailer is closing all of its 460 stores, including the one at the Pueblo Mall.

Struggling to pay off debt from its nationwide expansion, and also hurt by a weak economy and increased competition, the retailer initially planned to close about 140 of its weaker-performing stores and reorganize. But when it failed to reach a deal with creditors and lenders, it announced it would sell all its assets.

Sports Authority now has the corporate naming rights to Sports Authority Field at Mile High, the stadium where the Denver Broncos play.
