Invitation to a humbling Memorial Day ceremony
WOBURN, MA-Memorial Day in Woburn is a time-honored tradition, and many residents will pack town-wide events to honor those who have served our country.

City of North Miami Memorial Day Ceremony: A day of remembrance in tribute to the nation’s heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice to defend freedom and democracy; 10 a.m., Griffing Park, 12220 Griffing Blvd., North Miami.
Starting at 8 a.m. on Sunday, May 29, a work crew of veterans will decorate the tombstones of deceased veterans at the Santa Cruz Veterans Memorial Cemetery at the west end of the Nogales City Cemetery.
Not just for veterans, this ceremony will display patriotism at its finest by those who have served our country. The ceremony kicks off at 10, with the parade following at 10:30 a.m. down Marshall Hill to Lincoln Ave. May 28 to help. Parade units will line up on South Center Street then proceed to Front Street/Park Avenue to Veterans Memorial Park at Oakwood Cemetery on Hwy 33/151.
Maple Grove Cemetery at the intersection of U.S. Highways 24 and 40, and Memorial Park Cemetery, 1517 E. 15th St., will be open to visitors from dusk to dawn during the holiday weekend. Each of the ceremonies will feature a bugler playing Taps, a 21-gun salute and a chaplain offering a prayer. The morning begins with veterans invited to gather at the American Legion Headquarters (at the Community House). The flag placement is organized by the Veterans of Foreign Wars with participation by the American Legion, the Vietnam Veterans Association and local volunteers.
3 p.m. – USS Edson, 1680 Martin St.
The mayor, Norwood-Norfolk High School band, and the Norwood Brass Firemen will also be in attendance.
Resthaven Memorial Park will also have their annual service at 10 a.m. on Monday, and the public can also attend that.
For those looking to pay their respects to America’s veterans, there’s no better day than Memorial Day. A program will follow at the Bloomer Veterans Memorial. Come and join in honoring loved ones and veterans. The service will last about an hour and will be followed by a luncheon at the building’s banquet hall.
The parade will begin at noon at the Adrian J. Poirot War Memorial gazebo.
4 p.m. – Bay Medical Care Facility, 564 W Hampton Road. The Mass is celebrated by Auxiliary Bishop Peter Baldacchino at 10 a.m.at Ascension Chapel, 11411 NW 25th St., Doral. Ron Cepek, Army veteran, will be the guest speaker.

The parade will move down State Street to the Ogdensburgh Cemetery where a ceremony will be held.
