Jordan Spieth continued his hot play at the Dean & Deluca Invitational on Friday, shooting a four-under 66 in the second round at Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth, Texas.

Jason Kokrak was at 6 under and tied with Molder for the lead when he hit a drive in the center of the 18th fairway. Jordan Spieth, left, and Charl Schwartzel talk after teeing off on the tenth hole during the second day of the Dean & DeLuca Invitational golf tournament at the Colonial Country Club, Friday, May 27, 2016, in Fort Wor. “That was fun. I mean, I wish I could have just turned back around, teed off on No. 1 and just kept going because that side has been really good to me”. Spieth shot a 66 with four birdies in five holes after turning to the front nine.

Spieth began with a three-putt bogey at the 10th hole, answered with a three-foot birdie putt at the par-5 11th and birdied the par-3 13th, dropping his tee shot five feet from the cup.

Simpson shot 67 after 3-foot par putt at the 18th hole for a share of the lead lipped out of the cup. They will return to complete the second round Saturday morning.

The 37-year-old was among the first group of players that teed off on Thursday and was never caught during the opening round.

John Daly missed the cut with rounds of 75 and 74. He birdies Nos. 1, 2, 4 and 5 as part of an inward 4-under 31.

Matt Kuchar, ranked 20th in the world, had a bogey-free 63 for his best score in 33 career rounds at Colonial, where he was the runner-up three years ago and had finished his second round Friday with a triple-bogey.

“It will be a fun dynamic”, Spieth said.

The out-of-form 22-year-old has not won since January’s Tournament of Champions, while he suffered dramatic collapses at the Masters and AT&T Byron Nelson. “Big step up from last week”. The last nine holes we played were ideal for scoring.

“I was trying to get one more (birdie) coming in, because I think that would be really cool”, said Piller, who was thrilled to earn a third-round grouping with fellow Dallas resident Spieth, along with Simpson.

Simpson opened with a birdie, blasting out of a bunker and sinking a three-foot birdie putt, but took a bogey at the par-4 seventh when he couldn’t duplicate the feat, missing a four-footer after escaping the sand.
