Donald Trump rally in San Diego draws protesters, 35 arrests made

At least eight people were arrested outside a Trump rally this week in Anaheim, near Los Angeles.

He was speaking to an enthusiastic crowd of supporters in San Diego’s convention centre when things got out of hand. Police formed a line between the protester and the gate.

Authorities say around a dozen people were arrested outside Donald Trump’s rally in San Diego.

But as Trump supporters flooded into the streets following the event at the San Diego Convention Center, sparse clashes soon broke out between supporters of the presumptive Republican nominee and protesters opposed to his campaign, notably Trump’s views on immigration.

Trump University – which was not actually an accredited university and did not hand out degrees – has several fraud cases proceeding against it.

Pease also referred to the “militarization of the police department” and his plan for what he would do about it if elected.

“If you’re in first place, you don’t want to debate a guy whose in second place”, Trump said.

Donald Trump now has the support of 1,238 delegates – just a hair above the 1,237 threshold needed to clinch the Republican presidential nomination, according to The Associated Press.

Meanwhile, Trump said he will not debate Bernie Sanders after all in California prior to the state’s June 7 primary election.

After that demonstration had largely dispersed, Fresno police arrested a woman who refused to move as a line of officers advanced. That’s when officers began arresting them. Protests turned violent Tuesday in Albuquerque, leading to concerns about security in San Diego.

Earlier, in Fresno, Mr Trump told California voters that he can solve their water crisis, declaring: “There is no drought”. We’re going to win with trade. “I’d love to debate Bernie”, he said, but added that he proposed giving the proceeds from the debate to charity and that the networks “wanna keep the money to themselves”.

He is widely expected to contest the presidency with Democratic frontrunner Hillary Clinton later this year. The billionaire, according to his lawyer, is expected to testify in the class-action suit, which goes to trial in San Diego in November.
