After joking that they’ve taken out 739 main characters, the producers said they’ve gotten really good at the murdering thing.

“Game of Thrones” fans are still reeling from the incredibly emotional ending of Sunday’s episode, and the co-creators David Benioff and D.B.

David Benioff and Dan Weiss made an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live on Tuesday to offer their apologies for the death of Hodor.

Still traumatised by the events in the latest episode of Game Of Thrones season six? They actually weren’t apologizing for killing Hodor, and instead were apologizing for how they have forever ruined the phrase “hold the door”. “Because Hodor was just a totally normal kid who was then sort of screwed over by Bran”.

Well that is not the apology we wanted, but it sure did make us laugh a little after losing another beloved character.

Warning: Contains spoilers from Game of Thrones Season 6, episode 5. While adult Hodor held the door, young Hodor was having a seizure and saying “hold the door”. “Not for killing Hodor – we kill a lot of main characters…”

Lisburn native Nairn admitted that while he “couldn’t be happier how he has gone out”, we may not have seen the last of Hodor. If this report is true, that would give readers more reasons to see how the revelation unfolds in the The Winds of Winter.

What did you think about Benioff and Weiss’ comedy skit?

“We forgot how annoying people can be-that’s our bad”, added Weiss.

It’s no secret that Game of Thrones will diverge from George R.R. Martin’s books at this point.

Benioff explained that he and Weiss were as shocked by it when they heard it initially from Martin.
