It’s that time again: Pebble 2 and Pebble Time 2 hit Kickstarter
Pebble is back on Kickstarter, it has been looking to collect $1,000,000 to fund a trio of new wearable devices- the Pebble 2, Pebble Time 2 and Pebble Core. Unlike one of Pebble’s smartwatches, the Core has no display of its own.

The Pebble 2, for instance, has a higher contrast black and white E-Paper display as well as the 24/7 heart-rate monitor, microphone, activity and sleep tracker, water resistance up to 30 meters and 7 day battery life.
Then there’s the Pebble Time 2, the equivalent upgrade for the Pebble Time.
According to the CEO Eric Migicovsky, the Pebbly Core is programmable and hackable, so you’ll have to be careful with it as well.
Enter the Pebble 2, Pebble Time 2, Pebble Core and their kickstarter.
While the Pebble 2 and Time 2 are both updates to a proven Pebble formula, the new Core is something entirely different. Time 2 can be purchased from Kickstarter for $169; it is rumored to be priced at $200.
As for the Pebble Core, there are two models.
The Pebble 2 is available on Kickstarter right now for $194 CAD and will reportedly start shipping this coming November.
Last year, it came back by releasing its Pebble Time, which is a revamped version of the original Pebble.
“We’re focused on being the Swatch of the smartwatch world”, he said. It also charges using the contactless Qi standard, which means that you don’t need to worry about a dongle.
What is the Pebble Core?
With three Pebble products, it looks like the company is going to have to get more than just $10 million in crowdfunding, so let us walk you through each product and deliver a little detail about its functionality.
The device can stream Spotify (and store playlists for offline playback) and it has a built in Global Positioning System.
If you have a moment of inspiration while you’re hammering the pavement, you can make voice notes to jog your memory of your big idea later on.
Besides the smartwatches, Pebble has launched an activity tracker called Core.
Smartwatch pioneer Pebble has had a rough go of things since Apple Inc. Since it comes with a variety of connectivity options (3G, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS), has a very unique styling and can work with voice as well, you can use the Core as a button for anything that you would want to. The Core runs a stripped down version of Android 5.0, so building on the platform should be familiar for at least some developers. It is a wearable, but it isn’t a smartwatch.

Along with smaller frames, both watches include built-in heart rate monitors.
