American Legion Plans To Put Out 3000 Flags Monday
At Ridgecrest Cemetery, off Ridgecrest Road, Robert Jones, his son and grandsons started replacing flags Saturday morning to remember those who died in service or beyond with the Hollywood Drive VFW Post 6496.

The City of Lubbock Cemetery, in conjunction with the Daughters of the American Revolution will be having a service at the city cemetery at 10 a.m. Monday. The Zanesville High School band will play.
Also on Memorial Day, the Cookeville location of Blood Assurance on West Broad Street will be open for blood donations from 8 a.m.to 1 p.m. The most critical need is for blood types O positive, O negative, A negative and B negative. Zeman, U.S. Marine Corps, will be the guest speaker and the Grand Marshal will be Corporal Melvin Olson US Army-Korean War (Retired).
“Procession” will leave from the American Legion Hall-Post 93, in Tomahawk, WI at approximately 9:30am and will arrive at the Cemetery at approximately 10:25am.
The Memorial Day parade will start at 11 a.m.at the Short Hills train station. “And too many of our families suffered, because they lost loved ones who were serving our country”, said West Virginia Department of Veterans Affairs Deputy Secretary Billy Wayne Bailey in a written statement.
After the ceremony and the laying of wreaths at the memorial in Champaign Park, the American Legion hosted a picnic of hot dogs, chips and beverages for all who participated.
Participants will walk down to the Legion Lot for Memorial Day Service with the Rev. John Hughes.
The parade then marches to Union Cemetery for gun salute and Taps, then to the 1661 Old Burial Ground on Summer Street for gun salute and Taps. “It will end with the benediction by Ron Gibson, commander of Post 88”.
Immediately after the parade, a remembrance ceremony for fallen service members will take place at the Veterans Monument Park.
