Memorial Day program set for West Virginia National Cemetery
The parade will re-form at the bottom of the hill and march to Veterans’ Memorial Park by way of Meadow Street, Elm Street and East Main Street.

Step off time is 1:30 p.m. from Smith’s Clove Park.
In case of rain, the ceremonies will take place at 10 a.m.in the Thomaston Center School Auditorium.
Starting at 7 a.m., members of the American Legion Dalton Lavallee Post 224 will tour the community’s cemeteries and memorial sites, playing taps, laying wreathes, and lowering flags to half-staff.
Sunday: The White Cross Ceremony will be held at 6 p.m.at Monument Park. Kids who want to ride decorated bikes should report with their parents to the park at 9:20 a.m. There will be judging and prizes.
The Moreno Valley Veterans Memorial ceremony is scheduled for 2pm.
Monday: Participants will gather at the American Legion at 7 a.m. before attending services at 7:30 a.m.at Sweeney Playground; 7:45 a.m.at Fairbanks Cemetery; 8:15 a.m.at St. Denis Cemetery; 8:30 a.m.at Bresnahan Pool.
Friday: The White Cross Twilight Ceremony will begin at the Leominster Veterans Center at 6 p.m. A white cross will be placed for a Leominster serviceman whose remains have not returned home.
Volunteers from the Friends of the Cemetery, Camas High School ASB, NorthLake Church, Camas United Methodist Church and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints recently cleaned up the cemetery grounds, in preparation for the holiday weekend. Services will be held at the Canal Street Bridge and then the Riverside Cemetery before disbanding.
Hudson County will host a Memorial Day tribute today at the Holy Name Cemetery Chapel Mausoleum, 823 West Side Ave., at 11 a.m.
American Legion Honor Guard Post 56 from Carson City and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8660 from Dayton are conducting a Memorial Day ceremony at 9 a.m. Monday at Dayton Cemetery.
Following the ceremonies, a picnic will be held at the Tuxedo Library with DJ George Carney, Dragonfly Studio, Steve the Balloon Man, Bounce House, food and games.
The Memorial Day Service of Lamentation and Hope will include music, storytelling and candles of remembrance.
Portions of Route 32 in Woodbury along the parade route will be closed during the duration of the Parade.
