Celtics get third overall pick in National Basketball Association draft lottery

Simmons was the biggest name to skip last week’s NBA Draft combine in Chicago.

We’ve already revealed who we have the Celtics picking in our post-lottery mock draft, but here’s a roundup of some of the other National Basketball Association mock drafts from around the Internet and who they have the Celtics taking on draft night. They started 0-18, finishing a 28-game skid dating to 2014-15, en route to a 10-72 record that was just a game better than the all-time worst in an 82-game season.

This news apparently won’t upset the Los Angeles Lakers much, as they reportedly covet Ingram with the No. 2 pick. The 76ers will have to find a way to figure out a way to play with so many big men, however, as the top pick will probably bring another forward to the team.

The Philadelphia 76ers struck gold in the 2016 NBA Draft Lottery by winning the first overall pick, giving the maligned franchise some good fortune moving forward following years of turbulent seasons.

Any thoughts the Lakers had of trading their lottery pick should be completely dismissed now.

Now, the team didn’t make it common knowledge prior to the scan that Embiid was getting any tests done on his foot, and that’s probably a good thing.

Outside of a historical surprise, Philadelphia’s No. 1 pick will be exhausted on Duke freshman wing Brandon Ingram, or LSU freshman forward Ben Simmons. Ingram should score from the first time he walks onto an National Basketball Association court. “So I wouldn’t say anything is in stone in how the draft order is going to go, and so we’ll just evaluate them all and see how it goes”. It was only a matter of time, but now that it’s set in stone, it has to hurt a little bit more. With three more first rounders this year, the team could be adding more under-22 players to their fold. I think there are a number of arguments that can be constructed with him.

Yes, the Lakers have almost $60 million in cap space this summer, but that doesn’t mean they have to use it. It’s not going to disappear if they don’t dole out huge chunks of it to this year’s weak free agent class.

“Players that we draft, there are no guarantees”, Ainge said.

Who get’s picked at the top is still unknown.

While Ainge admitted that possessing the No. 1 or 2 pick would have been nice, he noted that this year’s Draft will be loaded with high-potential prospects.
