Here’s how that incredible Quicksilver scene from X-Men: Apocalypse was shot
Even though the new X-men movie managed to beat Alice Through The Looking Glass at the weekend Box office, it did not beat the income generated by X-Men: Days of Future Past.

With final figures due on Memorial Day Monday, the weekend was seeing an estimated $80 million in four-day sales for the X-Men sequel, and $35.6 million for the Alice movie.
“X-Men: Apocalypse” has opened up strong this weekend, taking in $65 million, as IGN reports. On Friday, as the film was hitting theaters, Amber Heard, Depp’s wife, was granted a restraining order after alleging the actor previously assaulted her. She appeared in Los Angeles Superior Court on Friday with a bruise on her right cheek.
Five films have taken in more than US$300 million – and more anticipated giants are on the way, including the Pixar sequel Finding Dory and Star Trek Beyond.
Bombing in the US too, was Alice Through The Looking Glass, which cost Walt Disney Studios US$170 million to make.
Disney’s distributing chief, Dave Hollis has wondered about the poor showing of “Alice” though with the film receiving critically bad reviews even before it came out, some have somewhat expected it. In its fourth week of release, the Marvel superhero adventure passed Deadpool ($362.7 million) to become the number one film of the year domestically with $377 million.
“But when you make big bets, there are times when you have results that are disappointing”, he added. She didn’t specifically reference the allegations but says Depp has “been nothing but a wonderful father to my little brother and I, and everyone who knows him would say the same”.
The Bryan Singer-directed X-men filled the multiplexes with a mutant-filled cast which included newcomers Sophie Turner and Tye Sheriden along with franchise marquee names such as Jennifer Lawrence and Michael Fassbender. X-Men: Apocalypse is now showing in cinemas. Boosting ticket sales were a handful of holdovers.
