Rescued footballer Alan Pulido appears in public
However, an official later on Monday morning clarified that Pulido had escaped his captors on his own. He speculated that the kidnappers thought they could get a good ransom for a famous soccer player. Pulido then shot the individual, escaped through a window and subsequently called police. Pictures on Mexican media showed him with a bandaged hand.

Ruben Dario of the Tamaulipas state attorney general’s office did not elaborate on the disappearance investigation to ABC News, saying the family requested privacy. Quintanilla said he was able to do this thanks to the “carelessness” of the kidnappers.
Quintanilla said Pulido cut his wrist when he broke a window trying to escape.
His brother Armando Pulido told Medio Tiempo that Alan was last seen leaving the party with his girlfriend around 11:30pm. His girlfriend, who was not taken, alerted others.
The Tamaulipas Coordination Group that includes federal and state security agents reportedly said it was searching for the player.
“Well, well thank God”, Pulido said after being quizzed on his heath following his ordeal.
Authorities have not yet provided additional details about the kidnapping or its motive.
“Alan is safe and sound with his family”.
After Pulido managed to escape and was taken to a local hospital to be checked out, Tamaulipas governor Egidio Torre Cantu rushed to the hospital to take photos with him and praise the work done by his police forces.
Pulido’s parents are scheduled to give a press conference about their son being kidnapped later today.
The kidnapping triggered an expansive manhunt in a region plagued by organized crime as a result of clashing drug cartels.
The striker plays for Greek club, Olympiakos and has made several appearances for Mexico’s national team.
Pulido left the Tigres in 2014 to play in Europe, though he has been in a dispute with the Mexican club about whether his contract there continues to be valid.
