Hundreds of veterans’ gravestones have no flags for Memorial Day

The annual Memorial Day parade sponsored by the Hugo A. Simonelli Post 3263 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars is still on and scheduled to step off at 2 p.m.
Missoula is celebrating Memorial Day with events happening across the city to honor the men and women who gave their lives serving in the USA military.
The Honor Guard Association held a ceremony at the Donel C. Kinnard Memorial State Veterans Cemetery in Institute Monday where over 150 worn American flags, West Virginia flags and military branch flags were discarded. It’s a Memorial Day tradition that’s been going on for 38 years.
The ceremony also commemorated nine status changes on the wall.

Two names will be added to the Philadelphia Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall (PVMM) for the first time in 13 years this Memorial Day.
Bands that performed were from Allen Park and Ecorse high schools, as well as the Plymouth Drum and Fife Band.
The Warminster Township Memorial Day Parade and Ceremony has been postponed to Saturday, June 4 due to the weather forecast.
