CAUGHT ON CAMERA: FL man chews off fingertips to avoid being identified

Lee County detectives conducted a traffic stop Thursday when they spotted the suspect driving a 2015 Mercedes that had been reported stolen, our affiliate WPIX reported. Roberts was detained in the back of a patrol vehicle while police conducted an investigation.

The ploy wasn’t successful though, as a fingerprint scanner quickly identified Roberts.

While sitting in the cruiser, Roberts is seen on video frantically chewing on the tips of his fingers in an attempt to destroy his fingerprints.

While Roberts was in the pack of a patrol auto after being pulled over on suspicion of driving a stolen Mercedes, a camera caught him resorting to a downright desperate measure: trying to chew off his own finger prints.

Authorities would soon learn that the driver, 20-year-old Kenzo Robert, was using a fake ID, and possessed a concealed firearm as well as three fraudulent credit cards.

Once they arrived at the police station for fingerprinting and booking, it was proven that his disturbing plan to remove his fingertips by chewing them off was all in vain. Apparently, he attacked an individual with a deadly weapon while in Broward County.

And to make things worse, Roberts was found to have been in the country illegally.
