Navas helped Real Madrid win the Champions League on Saturday, but he is apparently still bothered by the injury and could undergo a procedure to address the issue.

Costa Rica’s chances in the Copa America were dealt a major blow when medical tests on Monday confirmed an achilles injury to its goalkeeper Keylor Navas. It does, however, give Deportivo Saprissa’s Danny Carvajal a great opportunity to showcase himself between the sticks.
The news adds to an already bad day for the national team, as the Costa Rican Football Federation (FEDEFUTBOL) announced earlier that forward Ariel Rodríguez could be held out of the tournament with an apparent pulled muscle.
Navas was expected to be a key part of Costa Rica’s potential run in the Copa América, where it finds itself in a hard group with Colombia, the United States and Paraguay.
“Our department has asked for images of the scan, and received them some hours later, when they were looked at by our doctors, along with radiologist Randall Bujan and orthopaedic specialist Vladimir Badilla, who agreed that it needed treatment at this time”.
“Doctors consider that if it is not treated promptly, the player could suffer a complication in his Achilles tendon”.

“This is the same injury that Navas has had for a year and which has not responded to multiple conservative treatments that he’s had”, the federation said.
