Donald Trump repeatedly lashed out at the media, conservative opponents and Republican foes in a testy news conference Tuesday that he had called to answer criticism over his contributions to veterans’ charities.

“Trump will surely brag, as he always does, about his supposed generosity and appreciation for our veterans, but nobody should be fooled by this stunt, only completed under vast pressure”, the campaign said.

During the news conference Trump called ABC News reporter Tom Llamas a “sleaze” after Llamas questioned a statement from Trump about the veterans’ fundraising.

But his campaign has refused to disclose which charities had received the money months, leading some to speculate that the money raised was less than he had claimed.

“I’ve been involved with many fundraisers”, said Baldasaro, who added that he’s the former chairman of one of the groups benefiting from Trump’s donations.

Trump apparently took umbrage with Llamas and others in the media who questioned how much money he raised for veterans back in January.

Trump said. “I wanted to keep it private, because I don’t think it’s anybody’s business if I want to send money to the vets”.

Afterwards, Trump told the press to expect more of same in his White House.

Enter the mega-donors, including VanderSloot, who recalled thinking Trump’s campaign was a “joke” when he first launched his presidential bid last June.

Donald Trump is lashing out at the news media for trying to account for the millions of dollars that Trump said he had given to veterans’ groups following a fundraiser earlier this year.

He did it Thursday night, dazzling a crowd of hundreds of enthusiastic supporters by announcing that he had raised more than $6 million for veterans in one day – $1 million of it from his own checkbook. Trump said scrutiny the issue weas unfounded, and he launched into an attack on the political press.

Speaking at his namesake Trump Tower in New York City, he continued to attack journalists for even asking questions about where the money went. She said the group had “an inkling” that more might come but the amount was a happy surprise. “I don’t want the credit for it, but I shouldn’t be lambasted”.

Trump’s campaign manager Corey Lewandowski had originally told the Post that the event had raised about $4.5 million – less than the $6 million originally announced by Trump – because some who’d pledged had backed out. Trump’s campaign had previously told the newspaper that Trump’s promised $1 million donation had already been distributed.

CNN’s Jim Acosta asked Trump whether his characterization of the press as “dishonest” and “disgusting” was fair.

But do you really believe anyone in the Trump camp vetted any of these charities?

The New York real estate mogul in Tuesday also bristled at the possibility that Republicans opposed to him might run a third-party candidate as an alternative to Trump or the expected Democratic nominee Clinton.
