Chris Eubank Jr offers his British title to ‘warrior’ Nick Blackwell
Blackwell was placed into a medically-induced coma after suffering a bleed on the brain following his middleweight bout with Eubank Jr in March, with the 10th-round stoppage leaving the British boxer bloodied and bruised after taking a barrage of punches to the head.

Blackwell also appeared on ITV’s Good Morning Britain on Monday, where he insisted Eubank Snr’s tactical advice to target the body had nothing to do with compassion or kindness.
Eubank Jr said: “His career’s over now so as a gesture I was prepared to go to the hospital and give him the belt”.
Nick Blackwell has admitted he is “disappointed” with Chris Eubank Jr’s actions while he was in a coma.
In response to Blackwell’s comments, Eubank Sr told ITV: “Public/media pressure was so huge we felt we had to hold the press conference”.
“I was shocked when I first heard the things he had been saying because we had a little talk on social media on Twitter”, said Eubank Jnr, 26, on GMB.
Eubank Jnr said, as a gesture he was going to go to the hospital to present him with the belt, as Blackwell’s career was now over.
“The guy’s a true warrior, regardless of what’s been said, the only thing that’s important is that he is now okay, he’s with his family and he can live a normal life with no restrictions”.
“I haven’t got anything against him as a fighter, I think he’s a really good fighter”.
Eubank Snr, whose son was fighting Blackwell, enters the ring after one round and says he “doesn’t know” why the referee hasn’t stopped the fight between the pair.
“He knows from past experience what can happen to fighters when they take that amount of punishment”. He couldn’t stop me to the head, so he wanted to hit me in the body to try and get rid of me. All I have ever wanted for Nick has been the best’. The whole thing with them wanting to do a press conference, my family were begging them not to do it and they still went ahead and done it. I don’t believe it was Chris Eubank Jr who caused Blackwell to suffer those injuries, he was left in there far too long.

He went on to say: “Even yesterday I found out he was in an ambulance and almost died and had to be resuscitated on the way to the hospital”. Eubank Sr. replied: “Can you imagine if I’d told him to go harder?”
