Watch Paul McCartney And Brittany Howard From Alabama Shakes Play ‘Get Back’

Starting Friday 31st July, Chicago’s famous Lollapalooza festival is taking place across the weekend. Fuse included a YouTube video with the story. He paused a few times to comment on the imposing EDM fuckery that was bleeding from the Kaskade set over at Perry’s stage.

Howard took over George Harrison’s familiar guitar lead, then returned – after Paul “Wix” Wickens grooved through Billy Preston’s original keyboard run – to sing a raucous verse of her own.

That Paul McCartney returned to the “Get Back” last night at Lollapalooza wasn’t the surprise; it was who he brought out on stage.

Now, McCartney has delivered a solo rendition of the song.

Fuse called McCartney and Howard’s duet “inspired”.

Among the highlights was a special appearance from Alabama Shakes’ Brittany Howard during the encore, which also featured a snippet of the Abbey Road medley as well as tunes like “Helter Skelter” and “Can’t Buy Me Love” along with “Hi, Hi, Hi”.

Any Paul McCartney performance is an exciting prospect at this point, especially at a festival as big as Lollapalooza. Among other headliners, the story said, are Metallica, Florence + The Machine, Sam Smith, A$AP Rocky, the Weeknd and “more than 120 other acts”.
