Very strong wind gusts can damage buildings, down trees and blow large vehicles off the road.

An approaching low pressure system and upper level disturbance are expected to ignite some thunderstorms later today, and a few severe thunderstorms are possible.

As the night progresses the storms may weaken.

NBC 5 Storm Team Meteorologist Alicia Roman says we’re in for a hot, humid day, and storms could develop this evening.

Severe thunderstorms across central and east-central Wisconsin are possible Sunday as a cold front moves through the area, according to the National Weather Service. Remember, severe thunderstorms can produce tornadoes. Residents in affected areas are advised to stay indoors in an interior room on the lowest floor. Have your weather radio on and ready as well to receive any potential severe weather reports.
