Violating the ceasefire yet again, Pakistani Rangers resorted to firing of mortar bombs on border out posts along the global Border in Jammu district.
“Intermittent firing exchanges continued in the area till 2.30 am”.
Pakistani troops had violated the ceasefire four times on 29 July and 30 July along the Line of Control (LoC).
The officer said no casualty or damage has been reported from the Indian side. Punjab Rangers retaliated in an effective manner, silencing the Indian guns, the officials said.
The frequent ceasefire violation by Pakistan forces is certainly a cause of concern for the people living in the border areas especially in Jammu, Samba and Kathua districts of the state. An Army trooper was killed in Poonch and two BSF troopers were killed in similar incidents along the LoC in Kashmir Valley.
