Thousands of pro-and anti-Donald Trump demonstrators faced off on Friday outside a rally for the presumptive Republican presidential nominee in San Diego.
A total of 35 protesters were arrested, including a city attorney candidate, following an appearance at the San Diego Convention Center by Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, according to police.
Protesters and supporters clashed at an anti-Donald Trump rally Friday in San Diego, where protesters burned a “Make America Great Again” hat and at least three people were arrested, police said. Police were seen using batons on one man who tried to climb a wall and reach police, and confrontations between Trump supporters and opponents ended in punches thrown.
Following the real-estate magnate’s speech inside the city’s convention centre, police ordered the crowd to disperse, judging it an unlawful assembly.
The incident comes just two days after 14 protesters were arrested at a Trump rally in Anaheim.
