Police in riot gear fired pepper-balls and beanbags at protesters outside a Donald Trump rally in San Diego, California, on Friday evening as unrest inspired by the presumptive Republican nominee continues to simmer.

San Diego’s population is about one-third Latino and hundreds of thousands of people cross the border with Mexico legally each day.
When that man was arrested, more problems arose as protesters began to spray water and throw empty plastic bottles at police.
Authorities said 12 people were arrested, including one for trying to climb over a railing, but there was no major violence or mass arrests as at Trump rallies in other cities.
Following the real-estate magnate’s speech inside the city’s convention centre, police ordered the crowd to disperse, judging it an unlawful assembly.
Afterwards, he tweeted to police: “Fantastic job on handling the thugs who tried to disrupt our very peaceful and well attended rally”.
“We need to put up a wall to keep them out”, said Trump supporter Christine Kinyoun, 44, of Hanford. At least three people were arrested, police said. Trump said from the podium. The two sides faced off after Trump supporters left the rally around 4 p.m.
Trump is campaigning throughout California in anticipation of the state’s June 7 primary.
