Instagram Officially Announces Business Tools
This update will be extremely beneficial for small business users as they can share the picture of their work or work location via Instagram.

Just a bit more than a week ago, we told you about Instagram’s new features for businesses that allow them to obtain more insight into the people who are following them on the picture-sharing site. Though big brands have been advertising on the platform for some time, there hasn’t been a dedicated experience for smaller organizations, which make up the “vast majority” of Instagram’s business users, according to Jim Squires, the company’s director of market operations. Businesses can select a target audience or have Instagram suggest targeting. Simply pick a post you’ve already shared on Instagram and add a button encouraging people to take action.
Bad news here in the United Kingdom though. “And, after hundreds of interviews with businesses, three key needs became clear-stand out, get insights and find new customers”. Still, it’s handy to know so you can start planning social activity beforehand.
Business Profiles will be free to all businesses and may include a contact button that enables a visitor to call, text or email the business. Currently, only verified accounts with large followings are able to convert their accounts to business accounts, but that is expected to change in the near future.
A TechCrunch report points out that this development also provides businesses with the ability to turn Instagram posts into ads directly from the Instagram app itself.

With these new business tools on Instagram, the furniture store in San Francisco can receive emails from customers saving valuable time responding. “A do-it-yourself craft shop in New York City mentioned it’s always looking for quick ways to fill seats in class”. They will be available in “coming months in the U.S., Australia and New Zealand”.
