The 911 call of a terrified mother who watched her young son fall into a gorilla enclosure at the Cincinnati Zoo was released Wednesday afternoon.

Jane Goodall wrote a letter to the director of the Cincinnati Zoo where a 17-year-old gorilla was killed after a 3-year-old boy got into its enclosure over the weekend.

“If anyone wishes to make a gift, we recommend a donation to the Cincinnati Zoo in Harambe’s name”, said the statement released through publicist Gail Myers.
A family statement on Sunday expressed condolences to the zoo for the loss of the gorilla and “heartfelt thanks for the quick action” by staff. However, they have an emergency plan they practice routinely and are rechecking their own exhibits for safety following the incident at the Cincinnati Zoo.
He said it’s not clear to him there’s any federal role in response to the incident.

On Tuesday, Cincinnati police confirmed they are going to look at potential criminal charges stemming from the incident. Harambe began swinging the boy back and forth in the exhibit’s moat, and she screamed out, “He’s dragging my son. My son fell in with (a) gorilla There is a male gorilla standing over him”.
A 3-year-old boy was examined further by his doctor after falling into a Cincinnati Zoo gorilla enclosure Saturday. That gorilla-whose name is Binti Jua-is now 28-years-old, still living her gorilla life in her gorilla pen.
Maynard has defended the zoo’s actions, saying using tranquilizers on the gorilla would not have knocked the animal out right away, leaving the boy in danger. Prosecutors will ultimately decide whether to file charges.
Online petitions at change.org have more than 676,000 signatures demanding “Justice for Harambe” and the child’s family is now facing death threats.
