In the book this character is called Cold Hands and it will be interesting to see how his role plays out for the rest of the season.

Well, either Martin was lying or the Game of Thrones show is deviating from the books because show confirmed Benjen was Coldhands during “Blood of my Blood”.
Fortunately, a dark rider fought off the wights before revealing himself to be… Thankfully, Bronn is back to help Jaime with whatever he’s set out to do, and we’re thrilled to see him return. As he was stabbed by the Walkers and saved by the Children we can only assume that Benjen is now a hybrid of a White and a human. The character has been working with the Three-eyed Raven for the past several years. Despite Bran not accepting his readiness, his uncle says that Bran will be there waiting when the Night King arrives. Him also being in the Night’s Watch is also a hint, considering that the character from the novels is depicted to be wearing the black and gray uniform of the Watch. And with a title like “Blood of My Blood“, we’re hoping that Bran will have a certain vision that fans have been debating about for quite some time. Who the character known only as “Coldhands” actually was before he was turned into a semi-wight is a subject of deep debate among fans, as is why, though he has clearly been turned from human into something approaching “other-dom” if you will, he is not killing our protagonists.
First, a little backstory on how Coldhands is introduced in A Storm of Swords.
As the last episode ended, we saw Meera Reed trying to save the younger child of Ned Stark by dragging him out and away from the cave while Hodor was still holding the gate to keep the White Walkers away. With Brienne of Tarth and Jaime heading to Riverrun, predictions are swirling we’ll see her soon.
But will their plan of bringing in the Tyrell’s forces be enough to overthrow the High Sparrow and his armed followers or will the wider city rebel against the Lannisters? That award goes to King Tommen Baratheon. Outside the sept, Lady Olenna said it was a win for the High Sparrow, but my guess is Margaery knows exactly what she’s doing. This week on Game of Thrones we saw Walder Frey continuing to be very smug about his betrayal and slaughtering of Rob and Catelyn Stark. Now going through the desert, she leaves the rest in waiting, not telling where she would be going. She goes into hiding and yes, also recovers her needle.
– That Arya Stark (Maisie Williams) decided that the life of an anonymous contract killer was not, after all, her destiny. With a huge force, all she needs now are a thousand ships. You just need to have an account with them.
