Gujarati, Kannada, Marathi and Tamil

This doesn’t just mean that you can tweet in those languages – though of course that is one facet – but the interface has also been customised so the buttons like tweet, add picture, or add location, are shown in the local language you’ve selected. Twitter is now available in Gujarati, Kannada, Marathi, and Tamil, on the Web and on Android.

With the latest replace, Twitter will likely now assist 3 Indian languages inclusive of Hindi and Bengali. But the ability to tweet all the 140 permitted characters in Kannada or any of the five other languages is expected to attract even more people to the Twitter fold.

Twitter now has created interfaces in four additional languages which include many innovative features of this popular social media site including searching for handles, looking up trending topics, etc, which can be done in these regional languages. “We couldn’t have done it without their help”.

Twitter probably is expecting big things from India as the number of users continue to grow in the country.

“For the Android app, users simply need to change the language settings on their mobile devices to any of the four languages”, it said.

Micro-Blogging legend, Twitter, which so far supporting English and Hindi Languages, will now support more Indian languages. According to the research and analyst firm Emarketer Inc estimations the user base may increase to 40 million by 2018 year.
