Are you still excited for Yooka-Laylee? Team 17 will improve Yooka-Laylee in a myriad of ways, not least in expanded localisation (more languages!), QA testing, certification and store management – Basically, all the stuff that game creators don’t want to worry about. “Now, Playtonic has announced a partnership with publisher Team17 (of [a href=” class=”local_link” >Worms fame) – a little odd considering one of the main reasons people take to Kickstarter is to free themselves of greedy publishers.
Team 17 is best known for its work on the longstanding Worms franchise, but has a wealth of titles under its belt.
“There is a large demand for a physical game”, said Team17 managing director Debbie Bestwick. We’ve been following their Kickstarter campaign with interest and are delighted to welcome them onto our label and into the Team17 family.
Yooka-Laylee stars the charismatic new heroes Yooka and Laylee and using an arsenal of special moves like Yookas tongue grapple and Laylees sonar blast, players will explore and expand gorgeous 3D worlds filled with collectibles and secrets to discover.
Yooka-Laylee is being done by numerous former Rare Ltd. team members responsible for the Banjo-Kazooie series.
